Why Some People Rise While Others Repeat Cycles
By Episode 3, we’re ready to build.
Because fire can start something, but discipline is what sustains it.
People who rise aren’t necessarily luckier or more gifted. They’re built different by decision, by discipline, and by what they choose to do when nobody is watching.
In this episode, I open up about a season when passion wasn’t enough anymore. I was tired. The excitement had worn off. And the only thing standing between me and quitting was what I had built underneath me.
I had to ask myself:
“Calista, are you building something that can outlive this moment, or are you just performing?”
I also share part of my journey of working three jobs while saving money to start my business. I made sacrifices because I wanted to build from a strong financial foundation rather than depend unnecessarily on debt.
But being built different isn’t only about business.
It’s about what you repeatedly do.
I take you inside my own faithful routine: morning prayer, checking in with my husband, reviewing my calendar and to-do list, establishing my priorities, and then doing the work.
It’s showing up when you’re tired.
It’s praying when you don’t feel spiritual.
It’s remaining disciplined when motivation disappears.
It’s building when nobody is applauding.
It’s staying faithful when you can’t see the results yet.
The Words to Carry
Built slow lasts long.
Built loud goes wrong.
Don’t chase the moment.
Build the monument.
